FC 26 Journey of Nations: Fastest Way to Finish the Continental Objectives
What is Journey of Nations in FC 26?
Journey of Nations is a limited-time Festival of Football event hub in EA FC 26 Ultimate Team that has you build international-themed squads and complete continent-based objectives for themed rewards. It brings together themed objectives, challenges, and rewards across five regions, with each region focused on different teams, styles, and football history.
The five continents are North America, Asia + Oceania, Africa, South America and Europe. Each one hides a Completionist group that rewards a Journey of Nations ICON: Hugo Sánchez (North America), Saeed Al Owairan (Asia and Oceania), Jay-Jay Okocha (Africa), Carlos Alberto (South America) and Gerd Müller (Europe).
The whole thing is one long chase. Journey of Nations brings a new Event Hub to Ultimate Team, and completing all 5 continental Objectives earns you an exclusive Journey of Nations Diego Maradona. Keep in mind that all rewards are untradeable, so nothing you unlock here can be flipped on the transfer market.
How do the continental objectives work?
Each continent breaks down into multiple nation-specific sub-groups (goals, assists, wins, position and PlayStyle tasks) that you must finish to trigger that continent's Completionist. Each continent has its own objective groups and challenges; complete challenges to finish objective groups, and earn rewards for each group you complete.
The key mechanic that saves you hours: most tasks only ask for a goal, assist or win while a player of the right nation is in your Starting 11. That means one match can tick several boxes at once if you build smart. Once unlocked, you can work on completing several continents at the same time.
Where you play matters. While you can complete these objectives in Squad Battles (Min. World Class) or Rivals/Champs, the absolute best place is often the Live Event, where the win condition is "first to 3 goals." Faster matches equal faster completion.
Journey of Nations content is time-limited and unlocks continent by continent. Always check the in-game timer inside the event hub before you plan a session, and don't leave a Completionist to the last day. EA can adjust timings, requirements or rewards at any point.
What is the golden rule for finishing fast?
The single biggest time-saver is hybrid squads plus objective stacking: never grind sub-objectives one at a time. Build one squad that mixes players from several target nations, keep the required 4-5 per active task, and fill the rest with your strongest cards. That way a single match progresses goals, assists and wins together.
The community consensus across every continent is the same three principles:
Keep in mind that positions are literal: some tasks want a player whose *preferred* position matches (a natural RW, a natural CM), not just anyone slotted there. Double-check preferred positions in your squad before you assume a task will pop.
How to complete Asia + Oceania fast and unlock Al Owairan
You can unlock the 95 OVR Al Owairan by clearing eight sub-groups, and with clean planning it's the quickest of the three. You can unlock 95 OVR Saeed Al Owairan in just 7 games, because the Asia + Oceania Completionist requires you to complete eight different sub-groups but the right squad building and game mode selection lets you finish the entire set in just 7 matches.
Build a single hybrid squad and stack overlapping tasks. The fastest way is to build one hybrid squad using players from Saudi Arabia, Japan, South Korea and Australia while stacking multiple objectives in the same match. The Australia group also unlocks a Tim Cahill Fantasy Hero along the way.
The payoff is one of the meta's scariest attackers. A quick glance reveals a flawless 99 rating across Pace, Acceleration and Sprint Speed, and combined with his Controlled AcceleRATE archetype plus Quick Step+ and Rapid, it is practically impossible for defenders to catch him.
How to complete Africa fast and unlock Okocha?
Africa also runs eight sub-groups, and the standard efficient route lands Okocha in eight matches. For the fastest route to the 95 OVR Jay-Jay Okocha, the Africa Completionist requires you to clear eight different sub-groups, but with careful squad planning you can finish the entire set in just 8 matches. Some players trim that further to 6 with a tight 4-3-3 built around Senegal and Ghana/Morocco.
The Africa Live Event is the ideal ground because the nation requirements overlap so cleanly. The absolute best place to complete this entire objective is in the Africa Event, because the requirements stack perfectly across the continent's nations, letting you build hybrid squads to knock out multiple tasks at once.
The one task that trips everyone up is the Bicycle Kick. Your goalscorer NEEDS to have the Acrobatic PlayStyle to get the exact animation that counts toward the Bicycle Kick objective. If it's fighting you, note that the community has found you can often skip it and complete the other requirements in that group instead. Also watch the winger tasks: for the Egyptian Winger objective you need an Egyptian in your XI plus a *natural RW* elsewhere (a player like Salah, whose preferred position is RM, won't satisfy the RW part).
The reward is a dream budget CAM. With 94 Pace, 93 Shooting, 92 Passing and 97 Dribbling he is built to be an elite playmaker, and his 97 Agility and Ball Control plus 5-star skill moves make him an incredibly responsive dribbler in tight spaces.
How to complete South America fast and unlock Carlos Alberto?
South America is the most demanding of the three, running seven sub-groups over roughly ten matches with a two-phase squad approach. The South America Completionist requires you to clear seven different sub-groups, but with careful squad planning you can finish the entire set in just 10 matches while also picking up 92 OVR Journey of Nations Neymar Jr. along the way.
Crucial prerequisite: sort out your Uruguayan first. Forlán must already be unlocked before beginning this strategy, and since unlocking him requires scoring five goals with a Uruguayan player, complete that prerequisite first.
Because the tasks won't fit one XI, split into two builds. You cannot complete all the tasks with a single eleven-man squad, so you need a two-phase hybrid-squad strategy to trigger multiple requirements simultaneously in Squad Battles on minimum World Class difficulty or Competitive modes.
Carlos Alberto is a genuine end-game full-back. He boasts 94 Pace, 98 Defending and 91 Physicality, plus elite PlayStyles+ like Intercept+, Anticipate+, Pinged Pass+ and Jockey+.
How do you unlock Maradona at the end?
Maradona is the overall prize for finishing every continent. The Journey of Nations Completionist objective lets you work toward a massive end-game reward by completing a series of themed challenges celebrating the global impact of football legends across various continents.
The final step is refreshingly simple once the icons are in your club. The overall Completionist asks you to play one match in any Ultimate Team mode with each continental icon (Hugo Sánchez, Al Owairan, Okocha, Carlos Alberto and Gerd Müller) in your Starting 11, unlocking the 97 OVR Diego Maradona. All rewards from this objective, including the Maradona, are untradeable, and most challenges can be completed in Rivals, Champions or Squad Battles.

Summary
Journey of Nations is one of the biggest free-card grinds in FC 26, and the trick to speed is always the same: hybrid squads, stacked tasks, and the right mode. Line up your nations before kickoff and you can pull in Al Owairan in 7 games, Okocha in 8 and Carlos Alberto in 10, all feeding the 97 OVR Maradona at the finish.
Prioritise the prerequisites (Forlán for South America), respect the literal position requirements, and lean on Squad Battles or the Live Events for the fastest matches. Do that and the whole continental tour becomes a plan rather than a slog. If your club is missing key nation cards to build those hybrid squads, topping up your balance keeps the grind smooth.
