FIFA 23 ONES TO WATCH - THE ONLY GUIDE YOU NEED
It's no surprise that, just like previous Ultimate Team editions, we'll be getting no shortage of promos in the one with number 23. The first promo that has already been announced is called Ones To Watch, what certainly raises a few questions.
What is Ones To Watch all about? What's already known and what's not? When will FUT players get promotional cards? Keep reading, and you'll learn the answers to these and similar questions.
WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH ONES TO WATCH?
Ones To Watch refers to the biggest transfers that took place over the summer. Ones To Watch cards are dynamic, meaning that they may or may not be upgraded over the course of a football season. Each promo card from the Ones To Watch series has the potential for its stats and overall to be upgraded, which is dependent on a few conditions. In FIFA 23, there will be more opportunities than ever for a promo card to receive an upgrade - among them, we can highlight 3 conditions:
1. TOTW or MOTM
If a given football player receives a special card based on his performance i.e. TOTW (Team of the Week) or MOTM (Man of the Match), then in that case his TOTW card will be upgraded to the rating of the new card from the Team of the Week or Man of the Match.
2. Wins to Watch
If a given footballer's team wins 3 out of 8 consecutive matches in its league, starting September 30, his card will be upgraded once. At the same time, it is worth keeping in mind that such a player doesn't have to participate in a particular match for his stats to be upgraded (it's enough if his team wins a certain number of matches).
3. Nations to Watch (new)
If a footballer's national team wins 1 match at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, his card will be upgraded once. As with Wins to Watch, such a player doesn't have to participate in the match to get his stats upgraded.
FACTS AND LEAKS ON PLAYERS CARDS
Last year in FIFA 22, a total of 35 cards appeared in Ones To Watch, with 14 in the 1st OTW team, 14 in the 2nd OTW team, 5 in the SBC and 2 in Objectives - you can see the full list of these cards on FUTBIN under the link here: FIFA 22 Ones To Watch. This year, on the other hand, due to a sizable number of high-profile transfers, we expect even more players to be among the OTWs. Which brings us to the cards that have already been officially confirmed, and we present all of them below:
Famous leaker @FutSheriff repeated EA's words and published 4 OTW footballers who will definitely hit the Ultimate Team grounds i.e. Erling Haaland (Manchester City), Darwin Núñez (Liverpool), Rahim Sterling (Chelsea) and Richarlison (Tottenham).
Another leaker @FUTZONEFIFA reports that Robert Lewandowski (FC Barcelona) and Sadio Mané (Bayern Munich) will also join the Ones To Watch pool, which is sure to please many FUT players.
Who else will join OTW? There have been a lot of high-profile transfers this summer, and so we've picked out for you footballers with most potential to join the Ones To Watch teams in FUT 23, and these are: Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal), Casemiro (Manchester United), Antony (Manchester United), Aurelien Tchouameni (Real Madrid), Raphinha (FC Barcelona), Paul Pogba (Juventus), Paulo Dybala (AS Roma), Matthijs de Ligt (Bayern Munich) and Timo Werner (RB Leipzig).
WAYS TO GET PROMO CARDS
One way to get an OTW card (non-exchangeable) in FUT 23, is to pre-order FIFA 23 Ultimate edition before September 30 - thus a pack with random Ones To Watch card will be granted by EA on release day!
Another way is to keep a close eye on SBCs and Objectives throughout the promo, as you're bound to find several special cards there.
Another option is to open packs before the Ones To Watch promo ends - so you can give yourself a chance to land promotional cards.
The best way to get a particular card from the Ones To Watch pool is to buy it directly on the transfer market. WHEN WILL THE PROMO APPEAR?
EA has already confirmed that the Ones To Watch promo will kick off on Friday, September 30, which is the same day as the world release of FIFA 23. The 1st OTW team cards will appear in FUT packs at 6 PM BST / 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET.
In previous years, OTW lasted for two weeks, with the 2nd OTW team appearing a week later than the 1st. We expect the same to happen this year, but it's not confirmed at this point.
