FIFA 23: WHAT IS THE TOTW?
Every week, FUT players receive new content in the form of SBCs, objectives, rewards, but also a new team that arrives in the packs every Wednesday. This team, or to be more precise, these teams are referred to as TOTW (Team Of The Week).
What's the deal with TOTW? Are the Team Of The Week cards good and worth something? How do you get them? The future belongs to the curious - so read on, and you will find out all about it.
HOW DOES TOTW WORK?
In each new FIFA Ultimate Team mode, the developers select between 18 and 23 players each week based on their performances in the real world of football and place the best of them in the Team Of The Week (TOTW).
These improved footballer cards are called Informs or Ifs and usually receive a boost for 6 main stats with respect to their gold, or silver versions. In addition to a footballer's improved stats, his position can also change. For example, Valverde, whose nominal position on the pitch is CM (gold version with 84 Ovr) has already made it to the 1st Team of the Week with assigned RW position (IF with 86 Ovr).
Furthermore, we can highlight a new type of card for the Team Of The Week, the so-called "Featured TOTW", what made its debut a year ago in FIFA 22. Basically, each week one TOTW footballer is "featured" which results in a double boost for his card. All future IF cards, of such featured footballers, will be based on their first increased rating. Featured footballers can be identified by the gold star symbol that's visible in the top right corner of their cards.
Generally, a given footballer is not selected for TOTW twice in a row. At the same time, keep in mind that TOTW cards relate to both club and international football, and players are selected from leagues all over the world.
LOOKING AT THE FIRST TEAM OF THE WEEK
On the 21st of September this year, with the launch of the WebApp, the 1st Team Of The Week made its way into the packs. Below, we list all the names that made it to the TOTW 1:
As you can see, Son, Valverde, Immobile and De Bruyne look the most impressive. With the fast RB card i.e. Hamari Traoré being featured and awarded with a star.

TOTW 1 may not spoil you with the amount of amazing cards, but we did get some good cards, which is always welcome for the start of FUT.
HOW TO GET THE TOTW CARDS?
TOTW cards go into FUT packs every week on Wednesday at 6PM (GMT+1) and will be there for seven consecutive days from then on.
The first obvious place to obtain IF cards is the transfer market. These cards are generally tradable and can be used on the market. Keep in mind, however, that in the early stages of playing FUT, TOTW cards can be worth quite a lot. And they can still gain value over time, as at a later stage of the game, they are required to complete certain SBCs.
The other place to get Team Of The Week cards is, of course, the EA shop where you can buy packs. However, when buying pack after pack, you have to rely on randomness and luck. That's why we recommend taking advantage of the 1 gold pack preview every 24 hours and not buying packs in bulk.
