What is EA Sports FC 27 Early Access?

EA Sports FC 27 Early Access lets you start playing before the official worldwide release on September 25, 2026. Early access begins on September 18, 2026 for Ultimate and Ultimate Plus edition owners - it is the full game, and all progress carries over into launch.

Key FC 27 dates:

September 16, 2026 - FC 27 Web App goes live (expected date)

September 17, 2026 - Companion App on iOS and Android (expected date)

September 18, 2026 - early access (Ultimate and Ultimate Plus) and the 10-hour EA Play trial (confirmed by EA)

Early access is more than just playing sooner: it means faster squad building, first SBCs and a Transfer Market advantage before most players arrive.

Playtests - the earliest access

The earliest way to touch the game was the official EA Playtesting program - sessions ran in June and July 2026 on development builds, with selected participants reporting bugs and feedback.

You can sign up on the EA Playtesting website - complete your player profile and follow the schedule, as EA also runs sessions after launch.

Closed Beta

The FC 27 closed beta started in August 2026 and was invite-only. Codes went mostly to active FC 26 players enrolled in EA community programs who had product emails enabled on their EA account.

The beta is covered by strict confidentiality rules (NDA). Streaming or sharing materials publicly can result in losing access.

EA Play Trial

An EA Play subscription is the cheapest way to play early: on September 18, 2026 a 10-hour trial of the full FC 27 opens. You can play every mode, and progress carries over to the full game after purchase.

The timer can also run in the background - fully close the game after each session. Do trading and SBCs in the Web App or Companion App to save your trial hours.

Early access via the Web App and Companion App

For many Ultimate Team players the season starts even earlier - with the apps. The Web App is expected on September 16 and the Companion App on September 17, 2026 (expected dates; EA usually confirms them a few days before launch).

Requirements for early app access:

1. You created and logged into your FC 26 Ultimate Team club before August 1, 2026.

2. Your club still exists (deleted clubs do not qualify).

3. Your EA account has no bans or restrictions from last season.

You cannot play matches in the apps, but you can build your squad, complete first SBCs and start trading before the season begins. Log into the Web App first, then the Companion App.

Platforms and system requirements

EA Sports FC 27 releases on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Amazon Luna, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. Some new features, including The Grounds, are limited to current-gen platforms (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Switch 2).

EA has not yet published the official PC system requirements for FC 27 - we will update this section once they are announced. Console players should free up enough disk space.
