FIFA 22: WHEN IT'S COMING TO XBOX GAME PASS AND EA PLAY?
For some time now, video games can cost a lot and every gamer knows it. Fortunately, there are ways to get access to a title without having to spend the full amount. One of them are increasingly popular subscriptions such as Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, PlayStation Plus, EA Play, etc.
So how could FIFA players get access to the actual edition (for the platform they own) easily and cheaply? Are there any catches, and if so, what are they? And most importantly, where do you start with all that? Keep on reading for answers to these and similar questions.
FIFA 22 FOR FREE? WHERE AND WHEN!
To put it in a nutshell on what is about to happen with the EA Play service, one can throw out the old saying: "one thing ends and another begins". To be more specific, FIFA 22 will hit EA Play subscriptions and along with it Xbox Game Pass Ultimate as early as June 23rd, 2022! FIFA 20, on the other hand, will expire on July 1st - guess no one will regret a swap like that, right?
FIFA 22 is available in stores from October 1st, 2021, so if you're a late FUT player, or simply didn't want to pay a full price for the popular football game and preferred to wait up until now, you'll soon be able to download FIFA 22 for free (for over a month it was only available on PS Plus)! The guarantee for that free access will be a membership within EA Play and/or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
HOW TO PLAY FUT 22 FOR FREE ON XBOX AND PC?
For Xbox gamers (i.e. owners of Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S consoles), the only way would be to get an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership, which provides access to EA Play, Game Pass and Live Gold services (getting the subscription separately, i.e. the version without the Ultimate label, will not give you access to EA Play and therefore FIFA). PC gamers, on the other hand, should go directly with either EA Play or EA Play Pro in order to play FIFA 22 for free. The Pro version includes more benefits, but is not required to access FIFA. Therefore, compare both subscription offers before purchasing and make the right choice for yourself.
On June 23rd, FIFA 22 will appear on The Play List, so if you'd like to play it but don't have a proper subscription, don't forget to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on Xbox or EA Play on PC. This is crucial because access to these subscriptions = access to FIFA. In the event that access to a subscription expires, the same will happen to access to FIFA 22 (progress and saved statuses will not be lost, but you will need to renew your subscription to continue playing).
WHAT ABOUT FREE FIFA ON PLAYSTATION?
It needs to be made clear, PlayStation gamers got an upper hand this year as FIFA 22 released within PS Plus subscriptions on May 3rd 2022 and expired on June 7th. Meanwhile, Xbox and PC players have to wait until June 23rd for the free FIFA...
Nevertheless, the balance will soon be restored, and FIFA 22 will be playable on all the mentioned platforms (including PlayStation 4/5 consoles) as part of the EA Play service. As a result, the number of players will increase, and those who are new to FIFA Ultimate Team will be able to catch up quickly thanks to the FIFA Coins we offer and the current low prices of players on the market in the game.
