FIFA 23: WHAT IS THE RTTK?
The FIFA 23 Ones To Watch promo is over, and it's already a known fact that we won't get a second OTW team this year... a shame. However, the next promo that has already hit the virtual pitch in Ultimate Team is RTTK (Road To The Knockouts).
What is the RTTK event all about? Which special cards are worth looking out for? How do you prepare your budget? Traditionally, we have put together everything on the subject in one place, so feel free to read on.
HOW DOES RTTK WORK?
What happens in the particular UEFA competitions (i.e. Champions League, Europa League and Conference League) will determine how good a particular RTTK player becomes in Ultimate Team 23. Each Road To The Knockouts (RTTK) player has the opportunity to receive two upgrades depending on how their team performs in the remaining group stages.
-What needs to happen for RTTK cards to receive an upgrade?
An RTTK player will receive a 'win upgrade' if his club achieves two victories in the remaining group phase matches, and will receive a 'qualification upgrade' if his team qualifies for the knockout phase of the current competition (i.e. finishes 1st or 2nd in its group). However, these upgrades are based on the performance of the player's team, so the player himself doesn't have to take part in the match in order to receive the upgrade.
-When will the RTTK upgrades hit the game?
"Win upgrades" will be available at the end of each week, after all European matches for that week have been concluded, starting on Friday 21st October. "Qualification upgrades" will be available after the end of the group phase, starting on Friday 4th November.
-Will RTTK cards continue to be upgraded after the group phase?
Road To The Knockout Phase players are only entitled to two potential upgrades during the group phase and will not receive any upgrades during the round of 16 and finals phase. This will continue with the RTTF (Road To The Finals) promo, which will offer another batch of special cards with potential upgrades.
LOOKING AT THE RTTK TEAM
On the 7th of October this year, the Road To The Knockouts team arrived in the packs. Below, we list all the names featured on the RTTK special cards:
You can find the full preview along with upgraded card stats on Futbin at this link here: FIFA 23 RTTK. This is practically the best place to follow the current progress for player upgrades, where everything is explained clearly in the graphics.
And if you're wondering if there are those in our team who are thinking hard about getting the likes of Valverde, Foden, Messi and other great special players - then yes, by all means. After all, the RTTK cards look very promising this year, and we recommend you too to think about buying cards, as they can definitely make the Ultimate Team struggle easier!
HOW TO GET THE RTTK CARDS?
The RTTK players hit the packs on the 7th of October and will stay there for a full week. When the special cards disappear from the packs, their prices are sure to go up (well, unless EA Sports surprises us with something in the meantime).
In any case, RTTK cards were expensive at the time of release. Now, RTTKs have "shed some weight" and if you're convinced that you want to add such a card or cards to your team, then the transfer market is the best place to go. Having the right amount of FIFA 23 Coins, you go and buy whichever card you want.
By choosing to open packs in bulk, you risk losing your budget and have a low chance of hitting those cards you have your eye on. Randomness and luck rarely turn out to be your friends, unfortunately.
In all these cases, you will need FUT 23 Coins, so don't forget to take a peek at our offer on the website. We are currently offering the RTTK Promo - FUT 23 with which you can save a lot on your coins purchase. Remember, we always strive to make our prices attractive and more affordable than buying FIFA Points.
We will provide updates on FIFA 23 in separate articles. So if you enjoyed reading this, or want to know more, feel free to check out the other articles on our site:
