FIFA 23: WHAT IS FUT CHAMPIONS ALL ABOUT?
FIFA 23 Ultimate Team offers a variety of game modes and ways to have fun. However, it's the FUT Champions mode that offers competition at potentially the highest level and the best rewards that many FUT players would gladly accept without second thoughts.
But how do you get those rewards? Is playing FUT Champions really that difficult? Where do you start? Make sure to read it all that we have brought you here, so you won’t have to wonder anymore.
WHY SHOULD YOU PLAY FUT CHAMPIONS?
FUT Champions mode (i.e. Weekend League) is a high-stakes contest. Weekend League tempts with attractive rewards, but to get them you'll have to beat other FUT players, who may or may not turn out to be pros. The more matches you win, the higher the rank you'll earn, and thus get better rewards - which are generally more attractive than in other modes. More specifically, most FUT players care primarily about Red Picks, which are based on the current TOTW team (that's the most recently released in a given week). So, if Neymar, Haaland or any other valuable card makes it to the current TOTW, then by playing FUT Champions and earning picks, you have a chance to get them! Therefore, the rank you get will then reflect in the number of picks, and thus increase your chances of getting a cool card.
WHAT REWARDS CAN YOU GET IN FUT CHAMP?
As we mentioned above, the biggest motivator is the chance to get Red Picks and pack very good, if not the best cards in a given FUT period. On top of that, there are qualification points, which are added to the next FUT Champions and then that's how many fewer points you'll have to earn by playing Division Rivals. Various kinds of packs and FUT coins are also a nice addition.
In terms of points in the Weekend League, you get 4 points for each victory and 1 point for each defeat or leaving the match. Ties have no place here, as matches are played to the penalty shootout stage. You can collect your FUT Champions rewards immediately after playing all matches or after the competition is over.

HOW TO QUALIFY FOR FUT CHAMPIONS?
To participate in the Weekend League, you must earn the required number of points playing in Division Rivals mode to enter the play-offs, and in the play-offs themselves you must win min. 4 matches (according to the current requirements for Season 1).
In terms of points in the Weekend League play-offs, it looks the same as in the Weekend League itself. I.e. for each victory you get 4 points and for each defeat or leaving the match only 1 point. In the play-offs, ties also have no place, because you play until the point with penalties.
The rewards for playing in play-offs for the FUT Champions appear in the player's account after playing all available matches or at the end of a given season and look as follows:

WHEN CAN YOU PLAY THE WEEKEND LEAGUE?
FUT Champions games are held every week and last from the morning of every Friday until the same time every Monday. As for earning the points required to join the play-offs and to play the FUT Champions play-offs themselves, you can commit to this during the Weekend League as well as before or after - here you are free to do as you please.
Keep in mind that playing the Weekend League can be difficult, especially in the early stages of the FUT game, because other players do not fool around, and you will often come up against owners of powerful teams. Therefore, choose only the best cards you have yourself, including those with players on loan. Every meta card will help a ton.
