FIFA 23: WHAT ARE THE FGS SWAPS?
Every year, a new edition of FIFA offers different types of contests for players to play against each other. One of them is the FIFA Global Series (FGS), in which elite players can face one another. However, these play-offs also affect other players, as you can earn rewards in FUT throughout them!
What is the FIFA Global Series all about? Why should you be interested in it? And what can you gain from it? Read the article to the end, and you'll learn all about it.
WHAT IS THE FGS ALL ABOUT?
The FIFA Global Series is a contest for the best FIFA 23 players from around the world. On the other hand, Ultimate Team players will have a chance to earn valuable rewards just for following the matches. More than a dozen esports teams will take part in the contest, including FNATIC, Complexity, Heretics, but also teams sponsored by real football clubs such as PSG and Manchester City. You can find and watch all sorts of matches in the FIFA Global Series. However, in order to receive rewards in FIFA 23, you need to follow only the EA Sports Cup event, which involves two-on-two player clashes.
WHAT CAN YOU GET IN FGS SWAPS?
As a reward for following the EA Sports Cup, Ultimate Team players will be able to get tokens, which can then be exchanged for some decent packs via the FGS SBCs. The FGS rewards look as follows:
-for 1 FGS token, you can claim a Premium Gold Pack
-for 2 FGS tokens, you can claim a Premium Gold Players Pack
-for 3 FGS tokens, you can claim a Prime Gold Players Pack
-for 4 FGS tokens, you can claim a Jumbo Rare Players Pack
With that said, keep in mind that each of the above packs will be non-tradable, and all four FGS SBCs will be repeatable and available for completion year round. There will be a total of 25 tokens possible to earn in the FIFA Global Series.
HOW TO CLAIM YOUR FGS REWARDS?
If you link your EA and Twitch accounts (at this point we are only writing about Twitch, as YouTube is not included in the current schedule of matches), watch at least 60 minutes of an eligible event, and claim your rewards through the Twitch rewards system, then you will receive 1 FGS Swaps token (you can only receive 1 token per event). When you meet these conditions, you will receive a notification on your Twitch account that your reward is ready to collect. Confirm collection on Twitch and wait max. 24hrs to receive the FGS token in FUT 23.
To link your accounts and earn FGS rewards, follow the instructions below:
1. Link your EA and Twitch account at this link here: https://ea.com/twitchlinking.
2. Watch min. 60 minutes of a qualifying FIFA 23 Global Series event at this link here: https://www.twitch.tv/easportsfifa.
3. After receiving a notification on Twitch, confirm collection of your reward and then claim your FGS token in FUT 23 within the next 24 hours.
4. Redeem your FGS tokens in FUT 23 under the Squad Building Challenge tab.
5. Watch more eligible events according to the schedule to earn more tokens.
FGS swaps are available on all platforms i.e. PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Stadia and PC. If you have more than 1 platform linked to your EA account, the FGS token will be awarded to that FUT account, to which you log into first once you confirm your reward on Twitch.
WHEN TO WATCH THE PLAYOFFS?
The schedule for the matches is as follows (keep in mind that this is a framework, and further dates for events with the possibility of winning rewards for watching will be announced over the course of the season):
*To ensure that you are eligible for rewards, make sure that you have linked the correct EA account to your Twitch/YouTube account and that you are logged into the respective streaming platform account while watching.
