WHAT GAME MODES WILL BE IN FUT 23?
Back in the days, FIFA games included a number of modes that could’ve been counted on one hand. Today’s FIFA games are a completely different story. The upcoming FIFA 23 is said to include eleven primary game modes; whereas one of them, namely the Ultimate Team, may ft. up to nine different modes!
What are those game modes? Which ones are the most popular? What you must know before dipping into FUT? You will find all the answers below, just keep on reading.
WHAT’S THE FUSS ABOUT?
Let’s say it straight away — FIFA Ultimate Team is the most popular and satisfying game mode to play, and this has been the case for a couple of good years now.
The majority of FIFA players tend to choose this mode as only there, it’s possible to put together the football legends like Pele, Maradona, Zidane with nowadays greats e.g., CR7, Mbappe, Lewandowski and so on. On top of that, you can use your ultimate squad against other players in real-time tournaments, more or less demanding matches against AI, games with altered rules in Friendlies, and more. What’s not to like?
Each year, EA adds new game modes to Ultimate Team, so that players can progress in the old and new ways. FUT in FIFA 23 is said to have the biggest catalog of game modes to pick from yet! So let’s take a closer look at them.
WHAT’S NEW IN FUT?
- FUT Moments is a brand-new game mode that will be full of challenges based on recreating the legendary football moments. When you will complete them, you may be rewarded with special items, packs, coins, and apparently more!
- FIFA World Cup is an expansion in the form of free DLC that will be added to the game at some stage of the FUT cycle. It will be a mode based on the 2022 World Cup to be held in Qatar. There you will be able to form up a team ft. international greats from a wide range of all 32 qualified nations and compete yourself!
WHAT’S BEST IN FUT?
- FUT Champions is a mode that needs no introduction to the seasoned players. It’s the most popular mode in the Ultimate Team, with the best rewards that the game has to offer. In order to participate in the competition itself, you have to qualify first, and may do so each week throughout the FUT cycle.
- Division Rivals is all about clashing with other players and advancing in the ranks. It’s a good warm up before FUT Champions that can test your skill level and give you with decent rewards. Keep in mind that Division Rivals is a seasonal competition, whereas each season will run for approximately six weeks. So climb the ladder and grab those rewards!
- Squad Building Challenges (aka SBC) are the best way to get one of the best player cards in FIFA Ultimate Team, as well as other rewards. Some challenges are more worthwhile than others. Once the lineup is built and the requirements are met, you have to give away those cards in exchange for rewards, which often pay off with higher profits. Besides, if you find yourself in doubt with completing a given challenge, then check out community feedback at FUTBIN or simply write us. There’s nothing worse than missing out on an SBC that would link up perfectly with your team.
WHAT’S ELSE IN FUT
- Squad Battles is a single-player or co-op mode that lets you play up to 40 matches against AI each week. As a result, this mode is a bit neglected by FIFA players, but keep in mind that playing in Squad Battles can get you rewards that you will eventually need! So if you have some more spare time or just feel like taking a time off from the PvP, then dip into that FUT mode. Regular play is the way to go about here.
- FUT Draft is an Ultimate Team mode where you have to pay 15k FIFA Coins or 350 FIFA Points for the entry. Once you do that, you will be able to build a 23-man team by using a selection of random player picks. This mode can give a chance to play some of the best players in the game that you may not be able to afford otherwise. Play and win all 4 matches here to get the best rewards!
- FUT Friendlies features ten types of matches that can be played here e.g., Live FUT Friendlies, No Rules, Long Range, Survival, Headers & Volley, Max Chemistry, Swaps, Mystery Ball, King of Hill, Classic Match. Each of them varies with rules for you to play against the AI, friends, or other players. It’s a great mode to kick back and relax, but also a way to get special cards during certain promos.
- Objectives features a list of challenges which you can complete to earn rewards and progress throughout a given season (that’s lasting for around 6 weeks). In each FUT Season, there will be a variety of Objectives that will allow you to earn FUT Season XP, or other rewards, and level up your FUT Season Reward Level.
As you can see, there’s a lot you can do around the Ultimate Team. On top of that, it’s also possible to customize your stadium and the team of course, but these are rather functions than modes within FUT, so we didn’t list them above.
