FIFA 23: HOW WILL ULTIMATE TEAM CHANGE?

Every new year brings a new FIFA. Theoretically, every FIFA is the same game. In reality, though, every FIFA includes a number of new features, changes and updates that are delivered to players along with a numeric change in the title.

So can we expect EA to go one step further and ensure that the new version of FIFA will not be known merely as a renumbered game? What new features await us in the Ultimate Team mode, and what is already known about it? Answers to these and other questions can be found below.

CROSS-PLAY IN FIFA?!

According to current leaks and news, developers from Canada are planning big changes for their most popular game mode, namely Ultimate Team. Probably the biggest change will be cross-play, a feature that allows players from different platforms to play against each other. However, there is both good and bad news floating around the internet regarding this change. The good news obviously is that cross-play has been confirmed, and that it will be accessible in all game modes - including Ultimate Team! This means that all platforms will have the same transfer market and there will be no more differences in player prices based on which platform you use.

The bad news, on the other hand, is that cross-play will only be available to players on next-gen consoles/devices, and the following platforms will be exclusive: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Stadia.

This means that players using the old generation consoles, i.e. Xbox One and PS4, will not have access to this feature. Of course, on our part, we will not forget about players using the older versions of consoles and will sell FIFA Coins 23 for all of them!

THE CHEMISTRY SYSTEM WILL WORK DIFFERENTLY!

The second major change is the new chemistry system (links between cards in FUT). Specifically, there have been rumors of a new chemistry system for your team in UT. So it looks like the days of mismatched links between players (who are not from the same league or the same nation) will soon be behind us.

The link system as we know it will be completely removed and replaced with a star system (you will be able to get from 1 to even 3 stars of chemistry for each lineup). This will be a big innovation that could bring new opportunities to build teams in FUT. No more is known about this yet.

POSITION MODIFIERS ARE GETTING A CHANGE, BUT IS IT FOR THE BETTER?

According to recent claims, another "resounding change" in the new version of FIFA is supposed to be the lack of position modifier cards as we knew them until now. Every player will apparently have a primary position, and most of them will have a secondary position. As a result, in FIFA 23 it will be possible to change primary positions of players to their alternatives, and only then! So you won't find position modifier cards in the new Ultimate Team, as has been the case for many years. Is this a desirable change? Only time will tell. It is certainly a change worth paying attention to.

WHAT ELSE CAN YOU LOOK FORWARD TO IN FUT?

There will definitely be new special cards in FIFA 23. For FUT 22, EA introduced FUT Heroes (i.e. cards of merited/retired players who have unique stats and league-specific chemistry). It can't be any different in the new edition. We've already seen some hero cards for FUT 23 leaked on Twitter, and here are their names:

Rafa Marquez, Claudio Marchisio, Lucio, Yaya Toure, Peter Crouch, Rudi Voller, John Arne Riise, Diego Forlan, Matt Le Tissier.

Other leaks on Twiter addressed the icons! Alfredo Di Stefano and David Villa have reportedly been added to the game code, making the two Spanish league legends major players for our Ultimate Teams later this year.

Of course, the above information on the cards are leaks, which are usually reliable, but are subject to change. Regardless, there are definitely going to be cards worth getting, and at the very beginning of the game, this may prove to be no simple task - due to the high prices of the game's best cards. We don't think EA will suddenly turn out to be generous. That's why we encourage you to find out more about us and our current FIFA 22 Coins offer. Once FIFA 23 debuts, we'll be sure to update our website so that we can continue to provide you with attractive prices and promos!

HOW WILL THE LICENSES CHANGE IN FUT 23?

What we currently know about the licenses in FUT 23 is that the Mexican BBVA MX league and the Japanese JLeague will be exclusive to Konami - as a result, their respective clubs will not appear under their real names in FUT 23 or any other mode in FIFA 23. It is likely that the Russian league will not appear in the game at all, which is a straightforward fact, and we leave it without further comment. But which other, especially popular, clubs will lose their licenses? At this point, nothing is confirmed. The surprise is supposed to be the return of Juventus, but only time will tell whether this will actually happen. This is important for the licensing in FUT, because if there are no more leagues, then there will be no players in Ultimate Team. If a club has a "fake" name, there will be no cards with original kits, crests, motifs etc. in UT mode. On the other hand, the players of these clubs will be available under their real names and with real pictures on their cards. The point here is simple - the more licensed leagues and clubs, the better for the players, and hopefully EA will be mindful of this.
